Derek Touhy - MSPT,MTC,CSCS
Derek became interested in physical therapy while serving 8 years in the US Air force. He has been involved in sports medicine and sports conditioning since 1995 working as a personal trainer and strength and conditioning coach for high school, collegiate level and professional athletes, earning his certification as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) in 1999. Derek graduated Summa Cum Laude from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA in 1999 with a Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy. Pursuing his interest in the skill of manual physical therapy, Derek studied under Stanley Paris and the University of St. Augustine, receiving his manual therapy certification (MTC) in 2004. Derek’s treatment philosophy utilizes a combination of manual therapy skills and functional strength and flexibility training to assist his clients in achieving their goals.
Laura Homer - MPT, OCS
Laura Homer MPT, OCS earned her master of physical therapy degree from Northern Arizona University in 1998. She began with a degree in Music Education and taught and performed before choosing physical therapy school. She has been living and practicing in Telluride since 1998 with a focus on sports and orthopedic therapy. She has a level II certification with the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy and became an orthopedic certified specialist (OCS) in 2005. She enjoys exploring the local mountains and deserts with her husband and 2 young children.
